A Round of Parties For a Bride-to-be
In view of her approaching marriage Miss Betty Collins, of Palmerston North, has been the guest of honour at a round of gay parties. Last week’s hostesses wnre Miss Kitty O ’Connpr, who invited her guests to write their favourite recipes in a book . for the bride-to-be at a happy gathering at her home; Misses B. Oakley, S. Fannin and R. Billens, who gave a “linen” afternoon at the Rosco tearooms, where there was much cheerful chatter; and lastly Mrs. L. Seifert, junr., who ~gave a “kitchen” afternoon at her home in Church street. Yellow berries and marigolds gave a welcome in the drawing room, where some fifteen young friends assembled, Mrs. Seifert .wearing a becoming frock of wine silk crepe. A guessing competition, which was won byMrs. J. S. Yeates, afternoon tea and opening the parcels provided pleasing diversion, Miss Collins briefly returning thanks for the useful gifts showered
