Paris Styles Show Neat Street Suits and Evening Frills

PARIS, Feb. 4. Youthful street ensembles and brightly coloured evening dresses featured openings of Paris style shows yesterday. Street ensembles with, wrist length, fitted jackets, slender skirts and contrasting blouses were presented by the House of Worth. Afternooh ensembles frequently were elaborated by drapery and trimmed with passementeries or beading. There were many lingerie touches on dresses and suits, which featured longer waists and shorter skirts. There was a pronounced masculine note in strictly tailored threequarter jackets for day wear. Similar styling marked evening coats. The evening mode generally was extremely rich in lino and fabric, with the silhouette determined by the material. One silhouette was moulded to the body as far as the hipline from which it flared. A group of negligees, designed on lines reminiscent of the Middle Ages, were rich and exotic in fabric treatment and colour.

For evening, some pastel dyed furs, such as golden ermine and rose fox, were shown. Pastels predominated in day-time colours which highlighted many shades of rose. There were a number of multicoloured prints and two-toned geometric prints.
