Mrs. F. T. Roberts ,of Hastings, is a visitor to Auckland.

Miss Freda Doherty, of Wellington, was a week-end visitor to Palmerston North.

Miss Tui Anderson is a Wairarapa visitor to Feilding, and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. F. D. Lewis, Wellington street. Miss M. Ensom, of the staff of the Municipal Library, returned to Palmerston North yesterday, after spending her annual leave in Dunedin.

Mrs. L. A. Ferguson, of Palmerston North, has as her guests her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hay, and her nephew, Mr. A. Turner, all of Auckland.

Mrs. T. H. Groome, Hatuma, had as her guests this week Mrs. C. K. Wilson, Pio Pio, and Mrs. Noel Adams, Auckland, of the Women's Division of the Farmers * Union, who are on an organising tour.

The many friends of Mrs. H. V. Little, of Adelaide, who visited her sister, Mrs. H. Durand, of this city, about two years ago, will be interested to learn that she had the distinction of winning the open croquet championship of New South Wales in the sesquicentenary fixture. Mrs. Little and her partner were also runners-up in the champion doubles. Mrs C. K. Gamble is a passenger on the 1 ‘Monterey 7 ' en route for Australia with her husband, who has been appointed Managing Director of Vacuum. Oil Coy. Pty. Ltd. Mrs Gamble is looking forward to the re-establishment of many friendships made during her previous years of residence in Australia. A talented artist, Mrs Gamble has lately been studying with some of the foremost portrait painters in America, and in 1937 she succeeded in winning the coveted Gold Medal award for portraiture at the Grand Central Art Galleries in New York City.
