A 40-HOUR WEEK Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An award for dental technicians ia the Wellington industrial district has been made by the Arbitration Court. The award operates for one year from March 10, 1938. The hours of work are fixed at 40 per week to be worked normally on five and a-half days as follow: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on one day, from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on four days, and from 9 a.in. to 12 noon on the statutory weekly half-holiday. For workers working 40 hours on five days of the week the hours shall be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. The minimum weekly wages are fixed as follow: B grade technician, £5 ss; A grade technician, £6 ss; special process worker, £5 ss; female workers to receive three-lifths of the wages paid to male workers. Overtime is to be paid at time and half l'or the first three hours and thereafter double time. An annual holiday of two weeks on full pay is to be granted.
