RETURNS FOR FOUR-WEEKLY PERIOD The following are the particulars of the business handled by the Feilding raihvay station during tho four-weekly period ended March 5 last. Comparative figures for the corresponding period of last year are shown in parentheses:— Outward traffic: Passengers, 1737 (2108); passenger revenue, £539 (£632); timber (in sup. ft.), (85,500); parcels revenue, £6O (£54); cattle, 498 (443); sheep, 40,230 (44,066); goods tonnage, 1184 (11S9); miscellaneous revenue, £23 (£85); goods revenue, £3704 (£3997); total revenue, £4326 (£4768). Inward traffic: Cattle, 645 ((707;, sheep, 39,677 (37,529); timber (in super, ft.), 83,605 (76,950; parcels revenue, £69 (£52); goods tonnage, 3978 (2214); goods revenue, £4495 (£3593); total revenue, £4564 (£3945). On the outward side fewer passengers and fewer sheep were the contributing factors to the lower amount shown in the total revenue. J.t is also pointed out that last year 85,500 super, feet of timber Avero despatched from Feilding for Avhich tho revenue was in the vicinity of £2OO. This year there Avas no timber freight revenue The drop in the number of passengers accounted for £IOO. An increase in the goods revenue on the inward side improved the amount of revenue substantially this year.
