From Our Own CorrespondentGenfra: Meeting of Sports Club. A good attendance marked the meeting of the Sports Club to make final arrangements for the annual gathering to bo held on March 19. Jt was decided to register tho club in connection with tho Highland danc’ng events. The secretary (Mr S. L. Cur) reported that donations had been received from Messrs John Cobb and Co., Ltd (Fending), N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Dist. Co. (Feilding). Goldfinch and Cousins Ltd. (Palmerston North), Millar and Giorgi •:Palmerston North), Collinson and Son, Messrs Barraud and Abraham, Hodder and Tollev, Mrs Murphy (Sanson Hotel), R. Niool, T. H. Williams, A. Stevenson, J. H Perrett,. A. Sanson and W. R. Bishop. Mr C. L Hunter, M.P., advised that he was unable at this juncture to state if the Minister of Internal Affairs would b© present. and that every endeavour would be made for Mrs Hunter and himself to be oresent. It was resolved that cars be parked only south of the grandstand, and at the end of the grounds where a portion will bo fenced off. The secretary reported that good entries had been received for all events, and that tho handicaps Tor the senior events would be received on Monday. The president (Mr A. K. Drew) said that at a previous meeting it was resolved to present a badge to the two life members of the club, Mr A. Sanson and Mr A. Anderson. He was very pleased to see Mr Sanson at the meeting and thought the occasion should not be let gone by, in presenting to Mr Sanson his badge. The Club had a great deal to thank those gentlemen for in being instrumental in inaugurating the sports many years ago, and a lot of spadework had been put in, in the early days. The president said ho would personally write to Mr Anderson, conveying the sentiments of the club and forwarding his badge. Mr Sanson, in replying, said he appreciated very much the honour bestowed upon him and would alwavs regard the badge as one of his most treasured possessions. On behalf of iMr Anderon and himself, he sincerely thanked the members of the club and hoped that he would be able to as&lst in its welfare for many years to come. (Applause.) Mr E. J. Bowater said he understood th 9 secretary, Mr Orr, was shortly to leave on nis honeymoon for a trip to Australia, and on behalf of the club, wished him bon voyage and a safe return. Mr Sanson also spoke and said he thought the club was l indeed fortunate in having such an excels lent secretary.

Coming-of-Age Party. A bright and gay scene was presented at the home of Mr and Mrs T. A. Adams, the occasion beiug the coming of age of their daughter. Gwen. A number of young friends gathered to ceteprate this event, and a happy evening was spent by all. The drawing-room was tastefully decorated with bowls of michaelmas daisies, bella-donna lilies, while the supper tables were decorated with michaelmas daisies and gaillardles. A large, decorated cake, ornamenting the main table, had been made by Mrs Adams and iced by Airs W. J. Rowan. Mr Adams presented Miss Adams with a large gold key, which was signed by all present. She was also’ presented with a bouquet of asters, made by Mrs M. J. Smith. Mrs Adams received her guests wearing a navy blue floral georgette frock of smart design, while Miss Adams looked most becoming in a frock of figured silk with blue accessories. Competitions, games, dancing and community singing were enjoyed, Mr H. McKinnon providing the music for dancing. Among those present; were Mesdames L. G. Moore (Feilding), C. K. Rowan, Misses J.
