Germany Losing Export Markets

BERLIN, March 9. A gloomy summary of Germany’s foreign trade appears in Deutsche Volkswirt, the principal Nazi economic journal.

It indicates that neither the RomeBerlin axis nor the Anti-Comintern Pact has been an economic boom and adds that export prospects are not in the least rosy.

Foreign orders, especially of German coal and iron, are decreasing. Italy has begun to buy steamer coal from Britain again. Germany has also lost the Chinese, Japanese and a large part of the Persian markets.

English and American competition is becoming stronger.

Germany is handicapped by slower production, higher costs, shortage o* capital and too much red tape.
