First Meeting of St. Paul’s Methodist Church Guild

The first meeting for the year of St. Paul's Methodist Church Ladies’ Guild was held on Thursday, there being a fair attendance. In the absence of Mrs. M. A- McDowell],who is on holiday, Mrs. W. B. Cameron presided. Many apologies for* absence were received. General discussion centred on activities for the year for recommendation to the annual meeting to bo held next month. It was mentioned that a funcion was being arranged by the men’s fellowship and trustees of the church who desired to entertain the guild and ladies of the church and congregation. A busy year is anticipated. A reminder was given of, and an invitation extended to all guild members to join in the world-wide prayer movement on the day so set apart, particulars of which are to be announced later. Mrs- Stannaway, who has been on an extended visit to the South Island, was welcomed home again. The tea hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames G. H. Bycroft and T. Hastings.
