Choral Service For Pahiatua Bride

VARCOE—IRVING WEDDING On Wednesday morning last, in St. Peter’s Anglican Churoh, the marriage took place of Nora Ursula, second daughter of Mrs. Irving and the late Mr. C. E. Irving, Tiraumea road, Pahiatua, and Reginald George, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Varcoe, Ashburton. The vicar, Rev. Herbert Wilson, officiated, and though the wedding was a quiet one, only relatives of the contracting parties being the guests, the service was fully choral. Mrs. J. D. C. Crewe was at the organ, and members of the choir were present in full force to make it a particularly beautiful service for one of their former members who for many years acted as morning organist. The bride’s frock was a very dainty one of poach lace, with picture hat, etc., to tone, and she carried a sheaf of shaded gladioli. She was attended by her little niece, Noeline Taylor, who was frocked in soft silk in Kate Greenaway style and carried a posy to tone. Mr. C. E. B. Irving gave his sister away in marriage. After the ceremony a happy little gathering was held at the residence of the bride’s mother, Mr. and Mrs. Varcoe later leaving for the north. Their future home will be in Wellington.
