Yesterday St. Peter’s Church, Pahiatua, terminated its jubilee celebrations. Following Holy Communion at 8 a.m. there was held a parish breakfast in the Sunday school room. At 11 a.m. the Bishop of Wellington preached, and again he conducted the evening service when the choir rendered special thanksgiving music. Mushrooms have been very plentiful this season around Pahiatua, and many persons from the tawn have gathered many a basketful in very short time. Unfortunately a number of farmers are very annoyed when people are guilty of leaving gates open, enabling sheep and stock to wander.
