When Autumn Leaves Are Falling
What a delightful feast met my eyes as I walked through the Square to-day, windows were arrayed in all their autumn glory, one window, that of Mrs. Slater, who has recently returned from overseas, was displaying some very attractive frocks, coats and costumes. When shown some of these I was convinced that she certainly had had a busy time. Mrs. Slater specialises in all fittings, no one is neglected. Black is to be fashionable, also the very new colours, copper in ail tonings, magenta, fuschia and all the wine shades, with navy and green still in demand. The 5 o’clock frocks are marvellous, embroidered with gold and silver clamps, narrow braidings and touches of colour. Sashes are again with us, some fringed. The weeding outfits are dreams. I was allowed a glimpse of these, as they are only out of their tissue paper wrappings by special appointment. The coats, tailored Russian styles semi-fitting with flares, are trimmed with fur, astrakhan, pony cloth, imitation broadtail and many others made entirely of these new fascinating materials. Tailored costumes are again in the fore, with new cuts and suitings, also wool suits. ...
