Meyer, who resigned silently last year as First Secretary of the German Embassy at Washington, during a speech, termed Hitlerism as fundamentally antiGerman and anti-Ohristlan. He called the Nazi regime anti-Christ and the enemy of western civilisation. “I could no longer serve a Government opposed to so many things that I had been taught Germany stands for. Both moral law and loyalty to the t-i.e Germany make surrender to national Socialism impossible.”
