A Palmerston North, visitor to Wei* lington is Mrs. C. G. Hayward.
Mrs James Tipping*, Palmerston North, has returned after a visit to Christchurch.
Mrs. E. L. Christian, city librarian, who has been a Palmerston North delegate to the National Libraries' Association annual conference held in Nelson, has arrived back.
Having completed their fourth year of training, the following have been appointed staff nurses at the Palmerston North Hospital as from March 1: Nurses Stella Smith, Delcie Smith, Patterson, To Punga, Brandt and Dawson.
Miss Betty Seifert, Ranfurly avenue, Feilding, has returned home after a visit to Morrinsville, where she was the guest of her aunt, Mrs. F. W. Seifert, and of Mrs. A. Browne.
Miss K. S.’Galbraith, who has been on the staff of the massage department at the Palmerston North Hospital for the past nine years, has been granted leave of absence for nine months to visit England to continue her studies and gain further'experience.
The death occurred on Saturday morning of Mrs. George H. Mann, one of the best-known residents in „the Eltham district. She retired the previous night in apparently good health, but was taken suddenly ill and removed to hospital where she died early in the morning. Mrs. Mann was prominently connected with all women's organisations in Eltham, including the Plunket Society, Women's Institute, Red Cross Society, and Anglican Church. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, and one son.
