SUCCESSFUL GARDEN PARTY Despite the inclemency of the weather On Friday a very successful garden party was held in the beautifnl grounds of Mrs. J. D. Wilson, Victoria street. The ' ‘bring and buy” stall did good business and those in charge soon disposed of their goods, the sum of £3 17s being netted. The visitors admired the profusion of flowers and shrubs; rain seemed very threatening, but after a delicious afternoon tea all were anxious to enter into the games and competitions. Following were the winners:— Croquet, Mrs. Harrison; stepping the chain, Miss Mary Paterson; potato race, Mrs. Matthews; clock golf, Miss Donald (Wanganui). Mrs. Wilson was heartily thanked for her hospitality, and all felt that the time spent together had been well worth while,
