The well-known Pahiatua sprinter, “Buster” Murch, has been selected to represent the Wairarapa sub-centre at the provincial championships and also the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club at the country clubs’ championships at Welington on Saturday, February 26, in the 100 and 220 yards events. The St. Paul’s Presbyterian Sunday School picnic was to have taken place at Carnival Park, Pahiatua, on Saturday, but owing to the wet weather it was found necessary to postpone the fixture.
Mr. E. Hagen, who has been associated with Messrs Pringle’s, of Pahiatua,
for the past years as manager, has accepted a position in Auckland. At the xecent meeting of the Tararua Electric Power Board the engineer stated that trees in proximity to power lines were an increasing problem, and the growth this season was greater than ever before.
