From Our Own Correspondent. Personal. Mr Chas Goss, who severely ricked his back some days ago, has found it necessary, to lay up for about a fortnight. Friends of Mrs J. Bowyer will be pleased to learn that she will leave the Pahiatua Hospital at an early date. Mr A. M. Hawkins is the guest of Mr J. Hawkins. Rifle Shooting. The first B grade match of the season resulted i.« a win for Tararua by four points. Conditions were not favourable for high scoring. Following are the scores, seven shots being fired at the 300, 500 and 600 yards ranges:— Tararua: S. Blewett 97, G. Coster 94, R. Farrow 92, J. Sigvertsen 90. R. Thomas 87, W. Drysdale 85, K. During the recent week-end the Nireaha tennis team journeyed to Hastwells to compete for the Greathead Cup. Although the day was favouraoie for good tennis, Nireaha players failed to display their usual form and were heavily defeated by 18 sets, 133 games to 6 sets, 89 games. Women’s doubles: Misses Ngatuere and Madsen beat Mrs Lozell and Miss Spring; Misses A. and E. Dick lost to Misses Payne and Davidson; Misses Madsen and Ngatuere bdat Mrs Mills and Miss Goss. Men’s doubles: Ngatuere and Dick beat Lawrence and Lozell; Sigvertsen and Ruakere beat Petersen and Wright; J. Dick and Iv. Ngatuere beat Terry and Mills. Combined doubles: Miss Ngatuere and Ngatuere beat Miss Spring and Lawrence; Miss Madsen and Dick beat Mrs Lozell and Lozell; Miss A. Dick and Sigvertsen beat Miss Payne and Petersen: Miss Dick and Dick lost to Miss Davidson and Wright; Miss Madsen and Raukere beat Mrs Mills and Terry; Miss Ngatuere and Ngatuere beat Miss Goss and Mills.

The Nireaha team will play Rongokokako at Nireaha this week-end in a further cup match. Points scared for the cup are as follow: Hastwells 4, Nireaha 2, Rongokokako 0. Bible Class. On Monday evening the first meeting for the year of the Nireaha Methodist Bible class was attended by sixteen members. The Rev. S. Hindmarsh was present and gave a deitailed summary of recent church and Bible class activities. He also gave a short on the possibilities of the union of ch urches. Following the meeting, supper was served by the lady members. Fortnightly meetings will be held during the- edming year.
