Feilding’s Athletic Carnival Postponed

Unfortunately steady rain fell in Feilding throughout yesterday morning, necessitating the postponement of the athletic carnival which was to have been held on Kowhai park last evening. The joint committees of the Feilding Cricket Association and the Feilding Athletic Club had completed arrangements; for the carnival which was to inagurate a campaign for funds for the proposed new pavilion on Kowhai Parle, and it was most disappointing for all concerned when the rain fell and caused the function to be postponed. It was at first thought that the carnival could be held to-night, but owing to difficulties over securing the necessary permits from the two controlling bodies of athletic sport it was finally decided to postpone the carnival until next week.
