Produce Store Robbed
SAFE BLOWN OPEN WITH EXPLOSIVES Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Last Night. Gaining entry by breaking a pane i the window of the men’s cloakroom, thieves ransacked the premises of Turner and Fow, produce merchants, Hamilton, last night, and, blowing open the safe with explosives, removed over £4O. The theft was a particularly daring one, as the premises are right in the main street and the offices where the safe is situated are well lit by street lights streaming in lunge windows. The curtains were not drawn, and that the thieves realised their danger of possible discovery is evidenced by the fact that they did not wait to force the safe wide open. The explosion opened up a crack large enough for the thieves to put their hands into the safe and they stole everything they could lay their hands on.
