CATTLE LOWER BY £1 A HEAD Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Entries at to-day’s Addington market were larger than for some time. In the store sheep section about 19,000 were penned, and the other sheep sections comprised up to 9000. Store sheep: About 13,000 wether lambs were penned,the best of.which sold at slightly better rates, making from 18s to 20s for the best. Medium sorts were a little easier, and inferior definitely so. About 5000 ewes were entered, and these sold for: Best twotooths from 30s to 345, medium and inferior 21s to 245, four and five-year from 17s Gd to 19s and s.m. to 21s. Fat lambs: A total fit 2400 was penned, and full schedule rates to a shade more were paid. Fat sheep: There were 5500 penned. With a reduction of the ewe schedule and one of the freezing works not operating on account of troublo at the works, there was an easing of up to Is 6d for light ewes, other classes, except primest wethers, being down by Is. Best wethers sold at 30s to 345, good 26s to 295, and light down to 225; best ewes to 253, good 20s to 235, and freezing sorts from 15s to 16s Gd.

Fat cattle: There were 560 yarded, and the over-supply caused a drop of 20s a head, except for a few primest sorts. Best steers made from £l4 to £l7„ good £l2 to £l3 10s, light down to £9; best heifers and cows to £l2, medium to good £7 to £9, and light cows down to £4 15s.

Fat pigs: There was no change on last week. Porkers made from 34s 6d to 51s 6d (average per lb. s|d to 6id)r baconers 55s 6d to £4 4s 6d (average per lb. 6d to 6£d). Store pigs: Weaners and slips were again easier by 2s a head. Stores sbld well. Weaners made from 10s Gd to 18s, slips 19s to 21s, stores 26s to 44s 6d.
