Rangiotu

From Cur Own Correspondent. The monthly meeting of the Rangiotu school committee was held on Monday evening, Messrs R. Carkeek (chairman). G. Crosbie. J. Duncan, C. Kelly. R. M. White (secretary), and the headmaster (Mr D. Wilkinson), being present. It was decided to hold the annual picnic at Foxton beach on Friday, February 25, transport and catering being left to the chairman and secretary to arrange. The secretary reported that the school tank had been cleaned during the holidays. The headmaster's report showed that the school roll now totals 71 pupils; 12 had left at the end of the year and 10 new pupils enrolled on re-opening. The friends of Mr L. Thompson, who was seriously injured in a motor accident a few weeks ago, will be glad to learn that he is greatly improved in health and has been discharged from hospital, but it will be some time yet before he is able to resume his usual duties. Mr and Mrs W. Glniblett have returned from a holiday visit to Napier.
