Kitchen Evening Given at Makino
Recently the residents of Makino gave a very jolly kitchen evening in honour of Miss Natalie Fraser, laio of Makino, and Mr. D. McGregor-Right, of Christchurch, on the occasion of their approaching marriage. Dancing was the mam feature of the evening, and a brignt and happy time was speni by all, the proceedings being controlled by Mr. W. D. R. Baker. Cards were indulged in by the older folk present. The Monte Carlo was won by Mi. P. Moore and Miss J. Moore, wnilo Miss R. Thurston and Mr. D. Hills proved the winners of the statue dance. Before supper, Mr. Baker, in a very happy little speech, conveyed to Miss Fraser and her future husband the best wishes of the gathering, Mr. McGregor-Right suitably responding. The guest of honour was attired in a sweet frock of black velvet, relieved with pale pink, while her mother, Mrs. Fraser, was gowned in black lace. Among the many friends present were Mesdames P. R. Simpson, W. Bickers, P. Peterson, W. Hill, J. W. Nairn, W. E. Baker, R. Guthrie, A. Green, W. D. R. Baker, T. Shalders, J. Amer, A. Davies, Misses J. D. and R. Thurston, L. Gavigan, J. Bates (Wanganui), L. Baker, J. Fraser, E. Huddleston, V. Green, I. Amer, D. Davies, J. Duncan, F. McAvoy, V. Peterson, J". Nairn and Z. Vincent.
