National Party
WOMEN’S COMMITTEE FORMED A largely attended meeting was held yesterday afternoon in the P.D.C. tearooms of women interested in the formation of a women’s committee of the local branch of the New Zealand National Party. Mr, W. T. Durward occupied the chair. Mrs. J. Stone, president of the Wellington Women’s Division, addressed the meeting on the aims and objects of the party and impressed upon those present the desirability of joining the party themselves and of obtaining new members. At the present time the party was going ahead in leaps and bounds, explained Mrs. Stone.
At the conclusion of her address, Mrs. Stone was accorded a hearty vote of thanks after which an enthusiastic committee was formed.
The meeting concluded with afternoon tea and an informal discussion on the activities of the Party.
