Julia Retinik, a widow, gave him 1,000 dollars to start a store in Ontario but he vanisKod. The police state that his first wife died in mysterious circumstances at St. Catherine’s and the body of the second was found in a well at Catskill, New York. An unsuccessful search was mado for the fourth, Christina McKenzie, who vanished at Toronto. Roediger then marired Roberta Barcroft, a wealthy widow, at Vancouver in 1934. He terrorised her in a locked apartment until she gave him. a cheque for 50,000 dollars, but she cunningly signed it incorrectly and it was refused by the bank. Roediger then disappeared.
