North Island: Total, 17,015,013 (16,371,844); increase, 643,169. South Island: 14,195,721 (13,741,860); increase, 453,861. Total for the Dominion: 31,210,734 (30,113,704); increase, 1,094,030. A total of 1,692,610 mutton carcases was exported in 1937 for the year ended April 30, and 8,440,630 carcases of lamb.
