Sudden Death at Kimbolton
SCHOOL BUS DRIVER PASSES AWAY Yesterday morning the driver of tho Apiti school bus, Mr. John Henry Duffy, a widower, aged 62 years, was found dead in his bus which had been pulled up on the side of the highway. The late Mr. Duffy, who resided with his married daughter in Kimbolton, left home as usual at 7.30 yesterday morning to commence his run and appeared to be in normal health. Later, at about 9 o’clock, Mr. J. A. L. Ross, passing along the highway, noticed the bus standing on the roadside and suspected that something was amiss. He investigated and found the deceased sitting at the wheel dead. Constable Devine, of Kimbolton, with Dr. Barnicoat, was called and later it was learned that the deceased had been treated for heart trouble by Dr. Barnicoat and that death had resulted from heart failure. No inquest will btj necessary.
The late Mr. Duffy leaves a family of four daughters and one son and at the time of his death was living with his married daughter, Mrs. T. D. Murdoch, of Kimbolton. The other members of the family are Mr. Len Duffy, Mrs. Waldin and the Misse3 Eileen and Rita Duffy, all of Feilding. Before going to Kimbolton Mr. Duffy resided for a number of years in Feilding.
