From Our Own Correspondent. Library Dance. On Saturday last an enjoyable dance was held to raise funds for the local library. Dance music was supplied by Mrs J. Shapleski, Airs H. Johnson and Mr J. Denby. The winners Of the various novelty dances wero as follow: —Lucky Gay Gordons. Miss Anderson and Air C. Smith; spot waltz, Miss M. Waugh and partner; the bagatelle was won by Mr R. Schmidt. Cards were played in the supper-room, the winners for the evening being Airs Petersen and Mr S. Richardson. Supper was served by the ladies and a happy evening brought to a close at midnight. ! Young Farmers’ Club. A field day will be held on Air D. Kilgour Jnr’s. property on Thursday, 27th. inst., at 1 p.m. Air Bruce AlcLeod, of l Colyton, will demonstrate on mole-plough draining and also lecture on the value of 1 plantations. All members and others in- > terested are invited to attend. The monthly meeting of the club will be held in the Kiwitea hall on Monday, June 7, the lecture for the evening being Mr A. J. Galpln, who will talk on subterranean clover. It is also hoped Air J. B. Chrystall, of Kairanga, wilL give a short talk on the North Island executive committee meeting. Arrangements for a grand dance to be held in the KlwTtea hall during the first week in June are well in hand and'it is anticipated that this will be well patronised as there will be popular music and a number of novelty dances. All particulars will be advertised in the “Times” later this week.

General. Alembers of the Kimtffclton Women’s Institute are reminded that Airs Barrington of the Alanawatu-Oroua Electric Power Board, is giving a demonstration on cooking by electricity in the local hall on Monday, tho 31st. inst., commencing at 1.30 p.m.
