Mr. C. W. Corner, superintendent of Napier borough reserves, has been given six months’ leave of absence from duty, and is shortly to leave for an extended holiday in England. Mr. Corner has served the Napier Borough for 20 years, and is recognised as one of the most efficient reserve superintendents in the Dominion. Dr. Anthony W. Reeve recently returned from England after an interval of about 10 years. He has been studying medicine at Edinburgh University, where he qualified. During the latter years lie has been working in various English hospitals. His wife is the daughtor of Rear-Admiral Lawson, who lived in Havelock North about seven years ago. Mrs. D. Urquhart, Miss R. Monckton, Mr 6. J. Hunter and Mrs. Tollemache, members of the Waipukurau Ladies’ Golf Club, are competing at the Napier golf tournament.
