From Our Own Correspondent. Coronation Plans. A number of meetings have been held in Rongotea to consider ways and means of celebrating the Coronation of King George VI. Owing to the epidemic restrictions, it has been decided to diseour- . age any suggestions which would Involve a the bringing of children from other dise tricts to Rongotea or taking the children h of Rongotea into affected areas. The como mittee, and Mr W. H. Churchill in parr, ticular, are to be congratulated on the d manner in which they have dealt with a r. difficult problem. X’orming at the Coroe nation Ilall at 10 a.m., a procession of o decorated vehicles, representing the busi* r ness firms, sports and social clubs, pris vate individuals, bicycles, and children's e ponies, led by the Rongotea Band, is to - leave at 10.30 for the sports ground when, s after a short, appropriate service, child - o ren’s sports will be held, and the day - generally devoted to the young people, n The turn of the older folk will come on o May 13. when it is proposed to hold a e Coronation Ball to terminate the week of j, festivities. The Tennis and Basketball e Clubs are anticipating the round of fes- - tivitics by holding their ball on May 6, - and, judging by the amount of preparne tlon that is being done it bids fair to be - a great success Basketball. >f An interesting game was played on o Wednesday afternoon last, when Rongoe tea succeeded in defeating Rangiotu by d 25 goals to 6.
