Miss W. Perry, who has been engaged in business in Wellington, has been transferred to Palmerston North. Miss Edna Murray returned to Wellington with her sister for a short holiday. Mrs. E. Jefferies, Wellington, has been holidaying with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Murray, Palmerston North. Miss Marjorie Millar, Whaltarongo, who motored to New Plymouth on Saturday for the N.P.H.S. Old Boys’ Association Ball, was the guest of Mr and Mrs T. C. Rayner for the week-end, and returned to Palmerston North on Tuesday evening. Rov. F. O. Ball, of St. Andrew’s Parish, Martinborough, and Mrs. Ball, are staying in Palmerston North for a fortnight with Mrs. Ball’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cow burn, of Linton street. Mr. Ball was formerly assistant curate of All Saints’ Parish, Palmerston North. After a period of absence through ill-health, Miss E. E. Stephens, M.A., principal of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, resumed her duties yesterday. Miss S. J. Robinson has been acting principal during Miss Stephens’ absence. Miss P. Hindle, general secretary oi the Palmerston North Y.W.C.A., left for New Plymouth yesterday to address one of the association’s clubs on "The Place of the Y.W.C.A. in the Community,” with particular emphasis on the value of groups.
