Good Prices at Addington Stock Sale
HOLIDAY DEMAND STIMULATES COMPETITION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. There were full entries at the Adding ton market to-day and a good sale of at classes. Store sheep; A heavy entry sold at a slight increase on tlie firm rates ruling at recent fairs. Good two-tooths sold at up to 46s and four-year at to 3Us. Failing-mouthed ewes were also in keen demand. Fat iambs sold freely at slightly more than schedule rates for butchers' sorts, exporters taking the remainder. Fat sheep: Prime wethers were in good demand, as also were export ewes, but medium wethers were a shade easier. Best wethers made from 29s to 35s and best ewes from 22s to 255. Fat cattle: A heavy entry of 500 head sold at the best of last week's rates, the holiday demand stimulating competition. Values: Best steeis, £l2 to £ls 10s, prime medium £lO 10s to £ll Jss, best heifers to £ll, good sorts £8 10s to £lO, and good cows, £8 to £lO 10s. Fat pigs: Porkers were easier by 2s to 3s a head, but bacouers showed no change. Values: Porkers, 33s 6d to 47s 6d (average price per lb., 5Jd to 6d), bacouers 44s 6d to £5 7s Gd (average price per J.b., s£d to ssd).
