“Bathroom” Afternoon For Miss Stuart-Moray

A very interesting time was spent by the guests at a ‘“bathroom” afternoon given Miss Jean Stuart-Moray, of Feilding, on Tuesday by Mesdames YV. D. Reid and V. Reid at the home of Mr. William Reid, senior. Denbigh street. Three well chosen competitions which necessitated the solving of many difficult problems, gave the visitors much to think about and kept them busily engaged for the greater part of the afternoon and those whoso wits proved quickest were the guest of honour, Mrs. H. Reid and Miss Lottie Baker, each of whom was made the recipient of a charming gift. Mrs. YV. E. Baker ana her daughter, when called upon for vocal items, sang delightfully and following afternoon tea Mr. YYTlliam Reid made a very happy and eulogistic little speech with Miss Stuart-Moray as his subject. He then proposed her toast which was drunk with musical honours and later, on behalf of the gathering, presented her with her parcels that were duly opened, inspected and admired. The drawing-room, w T here the guests were entertained, looked most attractive, its decoration having been artistically carried out with sweet peas and Dorothy Perkins roses.

Mrs. YYh D. Reid was attired in Wcdgewood blue marocain relieved with white georgette, Mrs. V. Reid in rust marocain trimmed with beige and Miss Stuart-Moray in a picturesque black panne velvet frock, the scarf collar that gave it a finish being lined with pink georgette. Among those at the party were Mrs. R. Robinson, Mrs. E. Stuart-Moray, Mrs. YV. E. Baker, Mrs. YV. D. R. Baker, Mrs. YV. Huddlestone, Mrs. H E. Thurston, Mrs. IT. Reid, Mrs. G Baker, Mrs. C. Avery, Mrs. H. Hayden. Mrs. E. Bennett of Palmerston North. Miss Lottie Baker and Miss Betty Thurston.
