School Committeemen Beat Pupils’ Team

MATCH AT TERRACE END By 29 runs on the first innings, tho school committee of Terace End on Tuesday afternoon defeated the school first eleven in the annual cricket match.

Batting first, the schoolboys made 57 runs and the committee replied wit-n SO. The schoolboys’ second innings was progressing when several practice nets were placed very close to the pitch by association cricketers and hard hitting by some batsmen brought tho game to an early termination owing to the danger of the players being hit. The details are:—

Bowling: McConaghty took five for 18. In the second strike School made' a ,much better showing to score 95 for 4 at stumps. The scorers were Dench 17, Christiansen 13, Mutch 11, Scott 32 (retired), Kay (retired) 17, extras 8; the wickets being shared by Nash (3) and Davidson (1).
