Last Evening’s Happy Wedding at Feilding

■ CLAUSEN—McCLTJEE. Regal and very beautiful in her long and graceful wedding robe and misty tulle veil, Konta' Catherine, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. McClure, "Tirohanga,” Feilding, was the'picture of a perfect bride when married at St. Brigid’s Church early last evening to Leslie Albert, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Clausen, Palmerston North. Relatives and friends from ail parts of the North Island, a number from the South and many wellwishers thronged the church and the ceremony was performed by the Reverend Father Brooks with Mrs. Christie at the organ.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and simplicity was the key-, note of her robe, its rich fabric needing no adornment. Deep magnolia in tint and of the softest texture it enveloped her in gloaming folds to sweep into a. long fan-shaped train and with it.sho wore a lovely old veil bordered with chantilly lace. Her dark hair was wreathed with creme roses, tiny buds and silver leaves, raised in front to form.a coronet, while a bracelet of orange blossom and bouquet of lilies, irises and sweet peas completed her charming bridal attire. As flower girl her niece, Aynsley McClure, of Wellington, was a fairylike little figure in a long picture frock of jadeito green French georgette frilled from waist to hem. Her girdle and slippers were gold in colour, her pale gold curls wero banded with shaded roses and leaves to match and she carried a protty posy of yellow rosebuds.

Paul Cullinane, the wee lad who accompanied her as page boy, wore a long period suit of magnolia satin and smart black silver-buckled shoes. Two bridesmaids followed, Misses Molly McDonald, of Wanganui and Alison Donald, of Masterton, their frocks being of georgette similar to that of the flower girl. Very charming in design they were slim fitting and slightly trained with skirts knife pleated from hems to knees in front and to a higher point at the back and with them were worn waist-length coatees, the long sleeves of which were knifepleated to correspond. Gold girdles, sandals and wreaths gaye an added charm and their bouquets were of lovely golden yellow lilies, roses and dark foliage tied with ribbon to match. Mr. R. Moodie, of Wellington, was best man, Mr. C. Espiner, of Palmerston North, groomsman, and" Messrs; John Redwood (Wellington), Nevinson McDonald (Wanganui) and Alister Evans (Feilding) were the ushers. The subsequent reception was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall where approximately 150 guests were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. McClure.

Graceful bamboo entwined with pink rambler roses screened the walls of the hall and great bowls of blue delphiniums and pink roses on tall stands here and there enhanced the charm of the decorations. An alcove at the entrance to the hall was similarly adorned and a beautiful bell of pale pink rambler roses, blue love-in-the-mist and delphiniums with finishing loops of love-in-the-mist blue tulle (made by Mrs. Revington Jones) hung over the bride and bridegroom as they received the felicitations of their friends. A delicious supper was served and the tables, esquisitely arranged with pink and blue sweet peas, pink heuchera and poppies, love-in-the-mist and maiden hair fern, were a symphony in pink •and blue. A second lovely bell, fashioned by Mrs. C. B. C. Evans and Miss Alison Donald of flowers to tone was suspended above the bride's table. Mrs. McClure’s beautifully cut model gown of sapphire blue French sheer featured wing sleeves of spiderweb lace which also formed a deep cape at the back and her picture hat of cellophane straw was finished with a large flat bow of ribbon velvet to tone. Shaded pink roses and

tinted foliage composed her bouquet. Mrs. M, Sanderson (Otorohanga), stepmother of the bridegroom, wore an ensemble of navy marocain, a hat to match and carried blue Canterbury bells and pale pink carnations. Mrs. McClure, senior, of Hawke’s Bay, was in black and wliite ensemblo and her posy was of cyclamen and old rose carnations. Mrs. A. G. A. McClure, of Wellington (sister-in-law of the bride), wore a frock of powder blue georgette swathed at the waist with rose pink velvet. Her shoulder spray was of pink flowers and her posy was in shades of pink and blue. After tho reception Mr. and Mrs. McClure entertained a great many young people at a delightful dance in the hall and so ended the happiest of weddings. The bride when she appeared before leaving for a three weeks’ tour of the north, wore a model frock of love-in-tlie-mist blue French silk with pinstripe in self colouring. The sleeves, front and basque, were knife-pleated and pleating also finished the skirt while at the neck was a dainty little posy of pastel-shaded flowers and lily-of-the-valley. Her smart navy coat had wide wing rever3 and her knife-pleated hat of navy taffeta was a very becoming model its trimming being effected with two large paler blue organdio flowers and a tiny eye veil. Mr. and Mrs. Clausen intend making their home at Mt. Eden, Auckland.
