SEQUEL TO FARMERS’ PROTEST In reference to the Wairarapa Carriers' Association’s increased charge for carrying bacon pigs of from Is to 2s per pig, the following reply has come to hand from the Wairarapa provincial secretary (Mr. Jas. Watson) to the local branch of tho Farmers’ Union: —

“In reply to yours of November 19 I took the opportunity of presenting the facts contained in your letter before Mr. Skoglund, of the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority, on his recent visit to our -district. Ho assures me that the proposed 100 per cent, increase will not bo tolerated by him, and it would seem that you will get immediate action in the matter.’’
