From Oui Own Correspondent Women's Institute.

The president, Mrs A. K. Drew, presided over tho monthly meeting of the Sandon Women’s Institute. Owing to the unfavourable weather the attendance was not up to usual. After the business had been dealt with, a motion of sympathy was expressed for Mrs J. Bov/atcr and Mrs J. -\V. Meyer, members standing in silence. Tho resignation of Miss J. M. Peattie, who is leaving Sandon shortly to be married, was accepted with regret. Arrangements wero completed for the annual Christmas party, which is to be held on December 15 at tho residence of Mrs A. K. Drew, "Brooklyne.” Tho roll call was for the most usefu; article in the kitchen. The competition Cor Christmas pudding, boiled in a cloth, was won by Mrs C. E. Eglinton. Another competition for the Christmas gift costing not more than 2s, was won as follows:—Seniors, Mrs C. E. Eglinton 1 and 2; juniors. Miss L. Gedye 1 and 3, Miss Gwen Adams 2. An interesting demonstration on the decorating of Christmas cakes was given by Mrs J. S. Tricker (Bulls). An ehthusiastlc vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Tricker. The hostesses for the occasion were Mrs F. W. Tostevin, Misses Burrowes and L. Gedye.
