The Italian Cabinet has announced the reorganisation of the mercantile marine into four companies under a Maritime Corporation with a capital of nearly £10,000,000. The Italia Company with, a capital of £5,376,000 and 38 ships will control the trans-Atlantic traffic, Lloyd’s Triestina with 59 ships, a tonnage of 443,388 and a capital of £3,100,0110 will control the African, Asian and Australian, traffic and the others will deal with local waters. It is expected many new ships will be built.
