Pahiatua Lawn Tenuis Club

At tho annual general meeting of the Pahiatua Lawn Tennis Club held on Friday night 26 members attended. Apologies were received from the president (Mr. P. K, Boagey) and from Mrs. M. A. Robertson. Mr. W. Hall-Watson was appointed to the chair. The president's report and the management committee's report were adopted. Tho following resignations wero received: Miss McKittrick, Miss R dhckleton, Miss N. Fox, Messrs. J. A Shekleton and Keith Goer. Tho following new members were appointed, viz.: Mrs. K. M. Warren, Miss E. Chatwin, Mr. Truscott, Kirby Tayloi, Mrs. Strauu, Mr. Johansen, Mr. Bloxam, Mr. Bradley, Mr. Carruthers, Mrs. Bamford, Miss N. Irving, Miss J. Cook <-.nd Miss Fletcher. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. P. R. Boagey; president, Mr. Hall-Watson; vice-presidents, Miss H. Ross, Mrs. Bisset, Mrs. I. M. uraham, Mr. Bamford, Mr. Eric Greg orie; secretary, Miss N. Irving; club captain, Mr. L. D. Lovelock; auditor, Mr. Keith Siddells; management committee, the president, secretary, treasurer, club captain, and Misses Junker,' Raleigh, Messrs. P. R. Boagey and Bamlord; grounds committee, Messrs. J. D. Thompson, H. Gover, H. Gardiner aud A. Donald. Tho annual tournament was left to the decision of the management committee to make arrangements. The subscription will bo the same as last year, namely: Men, £1 15s; ladies, £1; junior players, 15s. Club Competitions. The meeting was unanimous in its desire- to work in harmony with tho country clubs of tho district and with this end 1 in view the following resolutions were passed:— That a sub-committee bo formed to endeavour to form a Bush Tennis Association. , That a sub-committee be set up consisting of the president, secretary, treasurer, club captain and Dr. Watson, Messrs. W. A. Carthew and Bamford, to meet delegates from the various interested clubs when such committee (Teems fit. Mr. P. R. Boagey, who had contributed over the past 20 years considerable and valuable work in the interests of the club was unanimously elected a life member. Mr, L. D. Lovelock was appointed delegate to the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association. The ladies' social committee was elected as follows: —Mrs. Goer, Mrs. Bisset, Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Cleghorn, Mrs. Mackley, Mrs. Tattle, Mrs. M. A. Robertson, Mrs. Dr. Watson and Mrs. L. D. Lovelock with power to add. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the ladies' committee to carry out the resolution carried at the previous annual meeting in connection with afternoon tea.
