Death of Motor-cyclist
CAR DRIVER COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Per Press Association. GREY MOUTH, Oct. 2. John Cyril O’Donnell, aged 27, single, a trucker, was committed for trial on charges of negligently driving a car and thereby causing tho death of William Ramsay Burt on August 29 in High street, Greymouth; also with failing to stop and ascertain whether he had injured Burt and failing to render assistance. The evideneo showed that Burt was found dead on the road at 2 a.m. with a motor-cycle some distance away. The inquest was held simultaneously. The Coroner (Mr. 11. Morgan) fount! that deceased died as a result of a fracture of tho base of the skull as a result of a collisiou between a motor-car driven by John Cyril O’Donnell and a motor-cycle ridden by deceased.
