From Our Own Correspondent Defence Rifle Club. Members of the Ashhurst Defence Rifle Club fired a shoot over tiio 3UO and 500 yards ranges on Saturday. A dull and fast changing light together with a strong rear fishtail wind, did not assist, the marksmen, though somo very excellent scores were registered. The best effort at 300 yards was a 3t by R. A. Jones, while H. Barlow and F. Dunstall e/icii secured St at 500 yards. Top score of t.ie day was (IT bv H. Barlow. Details were as follow: H. Barlow 53, 31, G 7; J. Searlo 32. 33, 65. R. A. Jones 3-1. 31, 63; F. Dimstul' 30, 31 04; M. Hausmann 30, 33, 03; C. Turner 30, 31, 61; It. Rom ley 29. Si, GO, W. G. Romiey 27, 32. 59; i:. r. Brookie 30 29, 59; J. Mclntvre 20, 23, 57; Colin Romiey 2’.’. 20, 51; Ed •>lcCrae 21. 29, sv; L. Harrowfield 50, 13. 43. The teams match held during the afternoon resulted in a draw. Next.
