From Our Own Correspondent Defence Rifle Club. Members of the Ashhurst Defence Rifle Club fired a shoot over tiio 3UO and 500 yards ranges on Saturday. A dull and fast changing light together with a strong rear fishtail wind, did not assist, the marksmen, though somo very excellent scores were registered. The best effort at 300 yards was a 3t by R. A. Jones, while H. Barlow and F. Dunstall e/icii secured St at 500 yards. Top score of t.ie day was (IT bv H. Barlow. Details were as follow: H. Barlow 53, 31, G 7; J. Searlo 32. 33, 65. R. A.
