Liltio Billy Swainson, mo son of Mr. and Mrs. 11.' Swamson, Newbury line, who has been seriously ill with pneumonia, is now convalescent. Miss Elsie Whisker has returned to her teaching duties at Ongaruc after spending a holiday with her parents on Cameron's line. The school fancy dress ball which has been a popular event in past seasons, takes place on Friday of this week. The children have been practising items for some time and are looking forward very keenly to the ball. Prizes are being given for children's dances instead of for fancy dress. • 1 School resumed yesterday. The vacant place on the staff has been taken by Mrs. Paekwood, ot Wanganui.
