Resuscitation Knowledge
"Figuratively speaking, patients aro ‘drownod’ ou tho beach or tho wharves,” stated Mr Alec Macgrcgor, president of tho Auckland branch of the Koval Lifo Saving Society, at its annual meeting this week states tho Star. Mr. Macgrcgor was stressing tho fact that lack of resuscitation knowledge sometimes resulted in life being lost when a person had been rescued from the water. Certificates were now issued for resuscitation, and people could qualify for them and help the society in its work who did not take in the actual water service. At a later stage in the meeting Mr. K. C. Keid, the society’s honorary chief instructor, stressed the need of resuscitation methods being widely known. This went much further than work on the beaches, and many opportunities arose in tho industrial life of the city, whore peoplo had been affected by gas fumes or electricity.
