Day-old Chicks by Air
TO BE “SEXED” BY JAPANESE METHOD.

DUNEDIN, Last Night. An interesting experiment is being made by Mr. Nichol, of Bt. Clair, who to-day despatched by air to Christchurch to be “sexed” 200 day-old euickcns hatched iu his tiO,ooo-egg capacity incubator. They are to no returned to him by the returning 'plane. At Christchurch the chickens will be separated as to sex by ,tho Japanese method of identify-ing the sex of chickens directly they aro hatched, and it is claimed that an expert can do so with 90 per cent, accuracy. Tho advantage to poultry-keepers is that they can in future buy day-old pullets or cockerels as they desire.
