Oroua Lodge of Druids

At the regular meeting of tlie Oroua Lodge of Druids, A.D. Bro. L. Mudford presided over a good attendance of members. An invitation to attend the

anniversary of the Hokitika Lodge was received. Foxton Lodge extended an invitation to attend a social and dance. A double complimentary ticket to a Druids’ ball, to be held in Dannevirke, was handed to the A.D. to have Oroua represented. A challenge to a game of bowls was received from Court Hinokoa and a date has been arranged. A challenge is to be issued to Acorn for the bowls trophy held by them. P.G.P. Bro. Jackson reported on the carpet bowls and that the game for the Jackson bowls trophy is to be played on Monday night. P.A. Bro. Buchanan reported on the F.S. Council and stated that the council hoped to soon have enough to purchaso the radio for the annexe. The lodge decided to make their donation to tho fund up to £3 3s. P.A. Bro. R. Paris was elected juvenile superintendent, and Bros. Buchanan, Chatfield, Humphries, N. Mudford and Gilmore were elected a committee to assist tho superintendent. During an adjournment, Mr Williams, dentist, paid a visit and. gave an interesting address on the teeth and their growth. A hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation to Mr Williams. Aftei the . closing of lodge a dainty supper was dispensed by the stewards, and cards and bowls wero soon being enjoyed by the members.-
