KINO EDWARD HANDICAP WON BY GRAND MOGUL

The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s August meoting was continued to-day, the weather being line and the track in good order. The attendance was excellent and the totalisator investments amounted to £37,291, as compared with £25,312 10s on the same day in 1935.

Taxpayer and Grand Mogul were first to show out but passing tho stands Grand Mogul had charge from De Soto, Taxpayer, Tempest and Llewellyn V Pride. Tho leaders maintained their positions over the next circuit and with three furlongs to cover Grand Mogul and De Soto were followed by Taxpayer, Llewellyn’s Pride, Vesuvius auct Graham Direct. Grand Mogul finished well down the straight to beat De Soto by a length and a-hdif with. KolJo four iengths away third Rey Spec was fourth. Times, 4.23, 4.41 1-5, 4.23 2-5. TROTS TWO ... ..

De Soto took charge entering the back and went on to lead into tho straight from Rey Spec and Cloudy Range.
