From Our Own Correspondent. After a most successful season the final dance of the winter conducted under the auspices ot the Aratika Tennis Club was held in .Mr. J. Walker’s woolshed on Friday. There was a large attendance ot local dancers and visitors from surrounding districts rolled up in force. Competitions during the evening for various novelty dances were held and the winners were .Misses L. Dungey, M. Ilopkinson (Waitotara), D. Walker and Messrs. T. Wealleans, N. Walker ana F. ilopkinson (Waitotara). The club's president, Mr. C. H. Wilson, thanked ml those who had given prizes and assisted in the management of the dances and stated that as a result of their efforts the elub had over .‘230 towards tire cost of a pavilion. He trusted that in the near future the erection of the pavilion would be au accomplished fact. It was if... pleasant duly to make one or two presentations the first of which was to Mr. and Mrs. J. Walker to whom he conveyed the sincere thanks of the elub for their generosity in placing the woolshed at the convenience of tiie club during tile winter. Mr. Wilson also expressed the thanics of the elub to Mr. Hyde, of Bunnythurpe, who had gratuitously provided the music tor the dances and asked his acceptance of a dinner waggon as a token of appreciation. .Mr. Edyvean who had conveyed Mr. Hyde to and fro was also presented with a memento from the club. All the recipients suitably acknowledged the gilts and remarks of the president.
