The special representative of the Australian Associated Press agency reports that the Association football match between Peru and Austria, which caused a disturbance yesterday, was ordeied to bo replayed to-day, owing to Austrian allegations of unfairness by tho Peruvians. The Peruvians, however, refused to play the match again and their committee’s decision was upheld by tho receipt of a cable from Lima ordering tbo immediate withdrawal of tho team from the Olympic Games. An official stated: “We won the match against Austria, against dirty play, against dirty refereeing, and against a prejudiced linesman.” Tho Austrian team took the field at the appointed time to-day, but the Peruvians did not appear and the match, from which tho public was excluded, was awarded to Austria.
