TOKOMARU. Dalgcty and Company Limited, report having had a most satisfactory clearing salo of dairy stock en behalf of Mr. W. R. Itoss, Tokomaru on Thursday last. There was a good attendance and the cows came forward in nice order. Eub calving dates and particulars being given with each cow. There was a strong enquiry for July and August ealvers, which averaged £6 10s 9d. Several cows were already in profit and these also met strong competition. Weaner heifers brought £3 7s 6d; aged gelding, £25; 6-yr. \ Draught mare, £46; store pigs, 10s Gd to 265; weaners, ss; quantity of sundries.

EEILDING SALE Dalgety aud Company Limited, report on their Eoilding sale held on Friday, when there were fair entries in all sections with the exception of storo cattle. Eat lambs were all only medium quality, which sold steadily at schedule. The season is practically closed, competition for export will cease after next Friday. A light entry of fat wethers met a strong salo with prices firmer. Eat ewes were in fair supply with a few pens of outstanding quality. Thero was good competition with a steady sale, top price being 25s 9d for an exceptionally choico lino of heavy ewes. The quality of the breeding ewe pen was fairly good and competition was sound for reliable sorts. Store hoggets were few in number and showed no quotable change. The entry of beef was on the light side, but hero again prices remained steady. No run bred storo cattle were penned. A heavy entry in the dairy section sold steadily, competition hardly being as active as the last two weeks. However there was a fair sale. We quote: —

Jersey heifers, £2 11s, £3 3s; 2-yr. Jersey bull, £3 2s Gd; fat cows, dairy' sorts, £3 5s to £4 7s Gd; fat heifers, £3 12s 6d to £6; fat,cows, £4 2s 6d; fat heifers, £6 17s Gd; ycalers, £1 to £1 17s 6d..

Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the Eeilding sale as under: — A medium entry of both store and fat sheep came forward to the above lixturo with a heavy yarding of dairy cows and heifers. Beef cattle wero penned in average numbers with no store cattle coming forward. A heavy yarding-of boner cows was submitted and for these the demand was keeii. Good reliable aged ewes, r.w. B.D. i\, sold freely, values in this section being well up to last week’s rates. Both ewe and wether lambs sold under keen competition at auction in the store sheep section and we report a total clearance at auction. A medium entry of fat sheep came forward, the quality iii the lamb section being just fair; values in accordance with quality. Eat ewes and wethers sold freely with a considerable advauco in values. The market in the dairy section was over-supplied with a consequent easing in values in comparison with last week. Quotations:— Eat sheep: Eat lambs, 18s lo 225; fat ewes, 17s 3d to 235; wethers, 20s to 30s 9d. Store sheep: 4 and 5-yr. ewes r.w. S.D. 27s 9d; 5-yr. ewes r.w. S.D. 29s Gd; aged ewes r.w. S.D. 24s 7d; ewe hoggets, 27s Gd to 27s Sd; wether hoggests, 16s to 19s; b.f. lambs, 10s 3d to 19s. Eat cattle: P.A. cows, £4 10s to £5 10s; P.A. heifers, £5 14s; Hereford cows, £4 17s; vealers, £1 to £2 11s; cows, £3 10s to £5 ss. Storo cattle: Cows, 27s Gd to £4. Dairy cattle: Spg. heifers, £3 to £5 10s; heifers, calved, £5 10s; spg., cows, £3 to £6 10s; cows in milk, £3 to £7 10s.
