Cheltenham Women’s Institute Dance
It was very unfortunate that the weathor conditions should prove so wet and unpleasant on Tuesday, when the Cheltenham Women’s Institute held a dance in the hall in aid of branch funds.
Inside the building, however, all was bright and gay and to the lively strains of the latest music, played by professionals, the you-ng people danced the night through and wero happy as could be. Their elders spent just as enjoyable a time in the supper-room amusing themselves, some making bridge their choice and others turning their attention to cribbage. Mrs E. E. Short (president) was in charge of the proceedings. The lucky door ticket was won by Miss Florence Shepherd. Miss Warren and Mr Bob Nicol were successful in the lucky gay gordons and the prizes for the statue dance were -carried off by Miss Hazel Hocken and Mr Bob Burgess. The Cheltenham Women’s Institute is to be congratulated upon having won the first prize for the winter larder at the Palmerston Nortfi Show.
