At the next meeting of the *Apitl Women’s Institute a demonstration is to be givfin on tho uses of a Singer sewing machine. Mr. Barnes of Kimboiton, presided over the annual meeting of the Apiti parishioners when the past year was reviewed. The Church finances are most satisfactory. Officers elected for the ensuing year are as follows: Secretary, Mr. W. J. Viles; treasurer, Mr 3. M. E. A. Martin; committee, Mesdames W. J. Viles, F. Munro, A. E. Prujean, Messrs. A. E. Payton, S. This year owing to counter-attractions of the Palmerston North Show and the Wanganui races, it seems likely that a later date will have to be chosen for the match. Junior Football. The Apiti and Rangiwahia junior teams met at the Apiti Domain on Saturday last,-the visiting footballers proving too strong for the home team w no were defeated 3 —22, although the game was not as one-sided as the snores would indicate. Mr. H. Wildbore wa3 the referee. The seniors were also defeated at Rangiwahia. The primary school match on Saturday morning was more of a practice game than a match as the Rangiwahia team fielded only nine players, the rest of the team being composed of Apiti boys. Churcher wlio carted the seats and tables from Kimbolton; also to radio station 2ZO, Palmerston North and the Mana-watu-Oroua Electric Power Board for lighting. After payment of all accounts there remains a credit balance, and it was decided to purchase jubilee photographs, these to bo presented to the pioneers who attended the jubilee. A framed photograph is also to be presented to the president and secretary as a token of appreciation of their services. At the jubilee festivities Mr. R. V, Stewart thanked the committee members for their support which enabled the jubilee celebrations to be carried through with such success. Presbyterian Guild.
