MORE TELLING FIGURES. (British Official Wireless). Received Tuesday, 9.20 p.m. RUGBY, June 15. Preliminary figures of overseas trade for May show au increase in exports and imports over both tho preceding month and a year ago. Exports last month amounted io £36,596,327, compared with £33,427,111 in April and £35,206,862 in May, 1935. Tho figures for imports at the corresponding dates are £69,175,330 and £66,665,586 and £64,528,697. Re-exports were £5,534,554 in May, against £5,922,051 in April, and £5,559,760 a year ago. Tho total exports for tbo first five months this year were £175,852,585, an increase of £2,274,544 over tho corresponding period last year, and £18,244,500 over the first five months of 1934. Imports for the same period of this and the two preceding years were respectively £335,607,912 and £302,072,560 and £301,311,350. Re-exports at £27,391,671 for the five months show an increase of £3,750,690 over the same period of 1935 and £2,083,878 over 1934.
